Fair points Hamish, I also make the decision and use Facebook. So many of us do.
I guess it becomes a questions of whether the inputs from FB investors and resources equate to the value of the content that is produced by their 1.5 billion users. Big upfront cost, but their earnings exponentially rise.
It is a shame about Diaspora and others like it — I think it’s early days yet for these kinds of models, but it’s promising.
